Socratic Seminar-Greek, and Virtues

I was really amazed how people in the seminar had to say about Ancient Greek rules and restrictions. I would probably say that most of the kids in the group had wondered why did they have those restrictions for the women as I do. We Came upon virtues and what types of virtues there were the big virtues that were talked about the most were Prudence (Knowledge), Fortitude (Bravery/Courage), Temperance (Moderation), and Justice (Fairness). The one that had the most disagreeing was Justice . The reason was because one student made a comment about revenge. He wanted to know if it was justice to kill the man who killed your father. A lot of people totally disagreed with the idea but is really got to some people because they had follow up questions that were like what do you do if someone just came running up with you with a knife would self defense be justice even though you killed the person? That question really got to me in all sorts of ways and i want you to answer that for me would that have been justice? I would love to hear what you have to say.
